The Human Stain

The Human StainA thought provoking title for sure. An interesting tale of a secret kept, ultimately leading to an end. A nice way for Nicole Kidman to show her versatility. She was good in this. As were the rest of the cast. A slow moving story that wasn't quite as captivating as it tried to be. Interesting, and sad, exuding a strong sense of loneliness throughout.

The book was one of the best I've read in a long time. It just blew me away, it was so good. I thought the movie was a pretty good adaptation, though Nicole Kidman's character took up more of the spotlight in the movie than in the book. I can see why, though. She was terrific.

I enjoyed this movie. It was sad, yearning, and strange in that the relationship wasn't one you normally see on the big screen...good acting by all as well.
